The Lake County Sheriff’s Office has reported that a deputy was injured in a traffic accident in Ingleside.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, on October 4, 2025, at approximately 3:25 p.m., a deputy driving a marked Ford Police Interceptor was traveling west on Route 134 near Main Street in Ingleside. The intersection is T-shaped, with a stop sign controlling traffic on Main Street and no traffic control devices for Route 134. A BMW X4, driven by a 45-year-old man from Roselle, entered Route 134 in front of the squad car and attempted a U-turn to head north on Main Street. The BMW struck the front of the deputy’s vehicle, causing it to collide with a Chevrolet Silverado stopped at the intersection. The Silverado was driven by a 23-year-old man from Round Lake Beach.

The deputy sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment before being released. The driver of the BMW and his front-seat passenger, a 36-year-old man from Round Lake Park, also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a hospital. The driver of the Silverado was uninjured. Open containers of alcohol were found in the BMW, and impairment appears to have been a factor in the crash.

The Round Lake Police Department and the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team are investigating the incident. All involved parties are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
