Principal Cory Burke, Hinsdale Middle School and District 181 | Linkedin

Hinsdale Middle School and District 181 are recognizing Principal Cory Burke during Principal Appreciation Month. Burke has served as principal of Hinsdale Middle School since July 1, 2022. She is known for advocating for students and showing commitment to the community.

Burke’s approach to education is shaped by her belief that all students can grow and learn. She focuses on building strong relationships between students and teachers, setting high but achievable expectations, and working closely with the community. Her experience includes nine years teaching Language Arts and eight years as an assistant principal in Schaumburg School District 54.

Under her leadership, Hinsdale Middle School has seen significant student achievements and staff dedication. The administration credits Burke with helping ensure a positive educational environment at the school.

The district administration expressed its thanks: "The entire District 181 administration extends its sincere gratitude to Principal Burke for her unwavering dedication and inspiring commitment to the success of Hinsdale Middle School."

Hinsdale Community Consolidated School District 181 covers DuPage and Cook counties, representing several schools including Hinsdale Middle School, Clarendon Hills Middle School, Elm Elementary School, Madison Elementary School, Monroe Elementary School, Oak Elementary School, Prospect Elementary School, The Lane Elementary School, and Walker School (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/). According to state data, the district employs 282 teachers with an average salary of $94,227; about 90 percent are women. Demographically, approximately 69.8 percent of students in the district are White, while Asian students make up about 15.4 percent; Hispanic students account for roughly 6.8 percent and Black students represent about 1.1 percent (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/). In fiscal year 2020, the district spent $31,308 per student for a total expenditure of $117 million (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).
