LRS will start its annual leaf collection program in the Village of Lake Villa on October 20, 2025. The service will continue for six weeks, ending on December 1, 2025.
Residents are asked to rake their leaves to the ditch or curb line in piles no wider than three feet. Leaves should be left unbagged and within four feet of the ditch or curb. According to LRS, only leaves should be included in the piles; other yard waste or heavy objects are not accepted.
LRS also emphasizes that residents should keep leaf piles away from culverts, sewer openings, and other obstructions to prevent drainage problems.
