Mundelein High School will hold a Veterans Day Breakfast on Friday, November 7, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. The event is open to local veterans and aims to honor their service. Following breakfast, there will be a parade walk through the school where students and staff can thank veterans for their contributions.
According to the school, "Our veterans’ courage, dedication, and commitment to protecting our freedoms have shaped the lives we live today. For our students, meeting veterans brings history to life and helps them understand the true meaning of service, sacrifice, and citizenship. The presence of veterans in our halls serves as a powerful reminder of the values that make our community and our nation strong."
The school encourages all veterans, regardless of when or where they served, to attend. "No matter if a veteran has served in times of war or peace, at home or abroad, their contribution matters. We want to ensure that our young people understand the debt of gratitude we owe to those who have served in uniform."
The breakfast will be followed by an opportunity for students and staff to express appreciation directly to veterans. The event will run from 7:30 to 9 a.m.
Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP online or by calling 847-949-2200 x1257 by Friday, October 31. The school stated, "We look forward to welcoming our veterans and showing our appreciation for their service to our country and our community."
