Mundelein Theatre is set to open its fall production of “Eurydice” at Mundelein High School on Thursday, October 30, with the first performance scheduled for 7:30 p.m. The play will continue through Sunday, November 2, featuring a Saturday evening show and matinee performances at 2 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

“Eurydice,” an adaptation of the Greek tragedy about Orpheus and Eurydice, tells the story from Eurydice’s perspective. Stella Buisson plays Eurydice, who journeys to the underworld after a tragic accident. There she reunites with her father, played by Xavion Haynes, and faces a choice between her past life and her new reality. Connor Bui takes on the role of Orpheus, who searches for Eurydice in the underworld. The play explores themes of memory, loss, and farewell.

The production uses a thrust stage arrangement that brings the audience closer to the action by seating them on three sides of the stage. This show marks Maddie Martorana’s debut as MHS Theater Director.

Other cast members include Archer St. Clair, Vesta Albano, Ellory Duval, Ella Gallup, Sydney Larson, Kelly McQuillan, Brendan Niernberg, Matias Rodrgiuez, and Jasmine Tigley. Shadow Reid and Arrow Jones serve as production stage managers while Eli Nerdin and Finn Trackman are assistant directors.

Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for seniors or students. They can be purchased online at www.mundeleintheatre.org under the Current Students tab until two hours before each performance or at the door starting 45 minutes prior to each show; cash or check is accepted at the door.

Connor Bui (left) and Stella Buisson will take lead roles in the Mundelein High School Theater’s performance of “Eurydice,” from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1.
