Northbrook School District 28 has again qualified for the Illinois School District Library Grant, a state-funded program that provides $0.88 per student to support school library services.

For this grant cycle, Meadowbrook Librarian Monica Benz will receive the funds. She plans to use the money to purchase print and non-print library materials such as books and magazines, aiming to enhance the library’s collection for students.

The district expects the award amount will be similar to last year’s total of $1,522, which Northbrook Junior High used to improve its library resources.

"This ongoing support from the State of Illinois, along with the incredible talent of our library staff, ensures that our school libraries remain responsive to the educational and literacy needs of all students," said Dr. Kris Raitzer, Assistant Superintendent.

Northbrook School District 28 serves Cook County and includes Greenbriar Elementary School, Meadowbrook Elementary School, Northbrook Junior High School, and Westmoor Elementary School.
