The Vernon Hills Park District is participating in the annual Green Oaks, Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills (GLMV) Coat Drive for Veterans as winter approaches. The initiative encourages community members to donate new or gently used winter coats and other outerwear such as hats, gloves, and scarves. All sizes and styles are accepted.

Donations can be dropped off at the Sullivan Community Center and Lakeview Fitness until November 20. The coat drive is organized in partnership with the GLMV Chamber of Commerce, local villages, businesses, municipalities, and Midwest Veterans Closet.

Midwest Veterans Closet is a nonprofit organization that provides free clothing and other essential items to veterans and their families.

"Join the Park District in collecting slightly worn or new winter coats and other seasonal outerwear (hats, gloves, scarves, etc.), which will be provided to our local veterans and their families in need. All sizes and styles are welcome," according to organizers.
