The Round Lake Police Department recently concluded a Halloween enforcement safety campaign, which resulted in 21 seat belt violations, five speeding violations, one handheld electronic device violation, one license violation arrest, and two other traffic violations.

This initiative was part of a statewide effort in Illinois to improve road safety during the fall season. Law enforcement agencies across the state participated with the goal of removing impaired drivers from the roads and ensuring that more drivers and passengers were using seat belts properly.

The campaign ran from October 24 through November 3 and was conducted under the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" and "Drive High. Get a DUI" programs. Funding for this enforcement effort came from federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
