She pointed Facebook followers to a longer news release on the topic. According to Cole, the implementation of the SAFE-T Act in Illinois, which she refers to as the "Catch and Release Act," will make everyone in Lake County less safe. She believes that law enforcement will be less able to detain accused criminals except in the most violent cases, leading to an increase in crime in the area.

The Gurnee Fire Department is seeking approval from the Village Board to purchase a road rescue ambulance for $362,435. The request will be considered at the board's meeting on September 25th. In order to make the purchase, the Fire Department is asking the city to waive the formal bidding requirements and utilize the HGACBuy Ambulance Contract agreement. This agreement would allow them to purchase a Road Rescue Ambulance, which includes the Stryker Power-LOAD patient lift system, from Fire Service Inc.
