In response to questions from residents, Mundelein officials recently posted an update on several business projects in progress or about to commence.
Rosati's Pizza is expected to open early next year in the former Applebee's location. The town also has been contacted by a business owner who is interested in opening a restaurant in the former Pizza Hut building.
Other new eateries on the horizon include a restaurant called Tina G’s, which will open downtown in on Park Street sometime in 2016.
Bosacki's Home Brew, a new microbrewery, also will open in Mundelein sometime next year.
Some of Mundelein's larger companies are also investing more heavily in the village. Medical-products maker Sysmex, based in Mundelein, is working on a $7 million expansion. Mundelein's Starbucks is one of seven Chicagoland locations that soon will test-market evening service with wine, imported and craft beers and "premium food."
The former Walgreens shopping center is undergoing a complete overhaul, though village officials did not provide any further details.
Finally, a new O’Reilly Auto Parts store will open on the site where an outlot building near the Jewel Shopping Center recently was demolished.
