Highland Park City Council to convene

The Highland Park City Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

After coming to order, roll call and the pledge of allegiance, the council will approve the Nov. 30 meeting minutes and all warrants dating back to Nov. 22.

The mayor's report includes the appointment of new commissioners to the board of Fire and Police Commissioners, Business & Economic Development Commission, Cultural Arts Commission, Historic Preservation Commission, Housing Commission, Human Relations Commission, Joint Plan Commission, Natural Resources Commission, Plan & Design Commission, Ravinia Festive Community Relations Commission, Transportation Commission and the Zoning Board of Appeals. The Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service Proclamation also will be read.

After asking for citizen comment on items not on the agenda, a number of resolutions authorizing agreements, amendments, abatements and contracts under Administration, Community Development and Public Works will be voted on under the Omnibus Vote Considerations. The council will also consider an amendment to a special-use permit regarding modification of the drive-through lane and sign variations for the McDonald's Restaurant at 1988 First St. This last item will be either approved or disapproved by the council.

After hearing reports from the Natural Resources Commission, Plan and Design Commission, and Sister Cities, along with an update on the waste hauling transition, the meeting will be adjourned.
