Potential traffic tie-ups and tax levy ordinances took center stage at the Village of Round Lake Beach's Council meeting Dec. 14, 2015, at Village Hall Council Chambers.
A 6:47 p.m., call to order revealed a quorum, with those present including Mayor Richard Hill; Village Clerk Margie Cleveland; Trustees Linette Benes, Susan Butler, Chuck Husk, Larry Mount, Sylvia Valadez and Kevin Wallace; Village Administrator David Kilbane; Director of Public Works Scott Hilts; Director of Finance Kevin Bueso; Village Attorney Scott Puma; Economic Development Director Jon Wildenburg; and Chief David Hare.
Following the Pledge of Allegiance, the agenda was approved unanimously by all six trustees.
In new business, an ordinance providing for the levy of taxes for the Village of Round Lake Beach was considered. The levy concerns taxes for the year 2015, to be collected during 2016.
Finance Director Bueso presented a PowerPoint demonstration about the proposed property tax ordinance, noting that there will be a change in the percentage of tax levy numbers and that voting on the Tax Levy Ordinance would be held at the village board meeting.
In public participation, Round Lake Beach resident Ken Schmidt, who resides at 1516 Ridgeway, initiated discussion on an intersection that he believes is dangerous because it lacks proper signage.
With no executive session, the meeting was adjourned at 7:06 p.m.
