Mayor Harriet Rosenthal will proclaim April 10 to April 16 Telecommunicators’ Week and the village board will advance plans for engineering contracts at Deerfield’s board meeting 7:30 p.m. Monday at Village Hall.
Since 1991, the second full week of April is when telecommunications personnel, such as 911 dispatchers, first responders and other critical personnel, are honored.
Deerfield has eight full-time and three part-time telecommunicators who serve as a link between officers and the public, providing vital support service in the community via radio, telephone and dispatch services.
The village’s board of trustees is also slated to proceed with plans of two engineering contract awards on the agenda along with regular business matters. Authorization is expected for a pair of Phase II engineering services contracts, including the Brierhill Road Infrastructure Improvement Project and the Deer Lake Road and Estate Drive Infrastructure Improvement Project.
Time will be set aside for any discussion items not previously included on the agenda as well as public comment and reports from the village manager prior to adjournment.
