Grayslake Community Park District holds public hearing on budget plan

At a recent special meeting, the Grayslake Community Park District Board held a public budget and appropriations hearing to answer questions from residents concerning the proposed budget.

Below are the minutes from this meeting, as provided by the board.

Budget and Appropriation Hearing

May 18, 2016

The meeting was called to order at 6:45pm by Vice President Swearingen.

The district is required to hold a public hearing outside its normal board meeting

for the purpose of providing information to anyone attending relating to the ordinance

and the process in developing it. The process begins in the fall when the district adopts

its tax levy which allows the district to collect up to 5% more of tax dollars collected than

the previous year or the CPI, whichever is lower. The EAV for the district has risen for

the first time in 7 years.

Public Comment: None

MOTION: by Powell for the Park Board of commissioners close the Budget and

Appropriation Hearing for May 18, 2016 at 6:54pm. Second by Larson. Upon roll call

all Park Board Members voted “aye” No nays. Motion passed.

Adjourned 6:55pm.
