A 36-hole tournament slated for July 30-31 in Lake Bluff — the Lake County Amateur Championship — invites participants to apply for its 45th annual challenge by July 25 to qualify as one of 120 selected players.
Potential players from all areas are eligible to submit entries regardless of residency for a chance to play in the traditional two-day event, enjoy a free lunch and accept a tee prize, courtesy of the Lake Bluff Golf Club. The cost is $155 per player or $95 if a member of the Lake Bluff Golf Club.
Because field size is limited to 120, applicants are encouraged to enter soon. Entries can be mailed to the Lake Bluff Golf Club at 355 W. Washington Ave., Lake Bluff IL 60044, phoned in to 847-234-6771, or delivered in person.
Contenders may bring their own caddies and must abide by the club and course rules, including appropriate dress and U.S. Golf Association regulations. Distance measuring devices will be allowed, as are groups of up to three players. The tournament staff will create starting times as well as pairings for both Saturday and Sunday.
Fees are non-refundable except for emergencies, and LBGC reserves the right to disqualify any players for non-competitiveness or misconduct.
