The village of Buffalo Grove Arts Commission met Sept. 21 to recap the landscaping contest.

"To draw upon the diversity and artistic talent within the Buffalo Grove community and to promote a broad spectrum of the arts which will serve to enrich our village."

Old Business

A. Events Contractor Update

Staff is still waiting on final year end budget numbers to be finalized.

B. Landscaping Contest Recap

Landscaping contest went well, with the winners being announced at BG Days. The contest is good but may need to be reinvented in future years.

C. Discussion on Sculpture Garden

Chairman Hartstein spoke with Ryan Reisinger regarding possible locations for a sculpture garden.

New Business

A. Halloween Decorating Contest

The commission formally approved of the change in meeting date to accommodate more time for facilitating the decorating contest.

B. Enterprise Calendar Art Event Discussion

The commission will judge the work on October 22nd at 9:00am. Commissioner will coordinate with Lynne Schneider to volunteer as a judge. The reception to honor the winners will be held on November 17th.
