The final class of 2016 of the Grayslake Community Park District's Brave Way Self Defense program is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the Grayslake Recreation Center MPA in Grayslake, according to www.glpd.com.

The two-hour class, originally designed to instruct police officers, is for participants ages 12 years and older, although children ages 8-11 can participate with an adult. Instruction on recognizing and avoiding dangerous situations also will be included.

Costs to participate are $26 per resident and $33 per nonresident. The registration deadline is one week prior to the start of class. Class size is limited to a maximum of 12.
