Lake Bluff ranked 275th in state in lottery ticket sales for July 2016

The Village of Lake Bluff had the 275th highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of July 2016 -- down 94 spots from its June ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Lake Bluff was $24.70 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the Lake County Gazette, Lake Bluff generated $140,125 in net sales from its four lottery retailers in July 2016, compared to $119,274.50 in July 2015.

The Village of Lake Bluff is in Lake County, and has a population of 5,674, according to 2010 census data. Neighboring municipalities are North Chicago, Green Oaks, Knollwood and Lake Forest.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in July 2016 was $31,550.42.

Lake Bluff's top lottery retailer is Lake Bluff Shell located at 28787 Waukegan Rd, Lake Bluff, IL 60044.

Lake Bluff Shell generated 30 percent of Lake Bluff's July 2016 lottery ticket sales and 1 percent of Lake County's sales that month, which was $11,421,252.50.

A close look at sales by city shows that the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita in Lake County in 2015 were Wadsworth, Hainesville, Lake Villa, Antioch and Fox Lake.

Statewide, the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita were Forest View, Burnt Prairie, McCook, Mapleton and Merrionette Park.

The top five cities in the state generated $5,496,719 in net sales -- 1 percent of the state's 2015 net sales amounting to $2,793,271,709.50.
