Village of Beach Park Public Works Committee met April 11.

Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:

The Village of Beach Park held a Public Works Committee meeting on April 11, 2017 at the Village of Beach Park at 6:00 P.M.

PRESENT: Mark Ottersen, Regina Miller, Don Jensen, Gene Gross, Jon Kindseth, Gina Nelson,

Tracy Miracle, Ben Metzler & Chris Bouchard

DISCUSSION

Minutes from March meeting were discussed and approved as is.

Monthly Report from Public Works

No discussion

Purchase of Asphalt Hotbox

Gene requested approval of the purchase of an asphalt hotbox from the committee. Purchase price for a new one is $29,093.50. The price is reflective of NJPA contract #113012-FRM. Committee agreed to recommend to the board on April 27, 2017 for approval.

Talmadge Ave Culvert Replacement Final/Bal Change Order #1& Pay App #3

This is not the final pay out. We will be holding 2%. This change order is in the amount of $87,725.41 due to the extra guard rail work that was done and the replacement of sanitary sewer (pre-existing but discovered during the project). All agreed to recommend pay out of change #3 at the Board meeting on April 27, 2017.

Beach Rd. Rec path Easement LCCOP

Chris stated this was just a formality to clean up the paper work and close out the project

of the Beach Road Reconstruction project. Pineview Cemetery to sign off. All agreed to

recommend to the Board to accept the Plat of Easement at the Board meeting April 27,

2017.

Greenbay Rd. Water Tower Proposal

Bid was received by LC United for the re-painting of the Greenbay Road Water Tower in

the amount of $13,470.00. Bid covers all labor, material, equipment and supervision to

surface prepare and paint the exterior transition cone of the water tower. All agreed to

recommend to the Board at the April 13, 2017 meeting for approval and acceptance.

New Business:

Jon brought up the fact that we vacated a portion of Liberty Avenue a few years back to the property owners of 39015 North Avenue in order for them to build a house on the back lot. Not the property owner is no longer building a house, and wants to consolidate the two lots in order to build a garage. This request will be going to the Board on April 13, 2017. Chris stated that RHMG will be performing clean-up along Beach Road, their Adopt-A-Street site in the Village, on April 29, 2017.
