Village of Vernon Hills President and Board of Trustees met September 19.
Here is the minutes provided by the Board:
I. President Byrne called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m.
II. Roll call indicated the following Board Members present: President Byrne and Trustees Koch, Hebda, Marquardt, Schultz, Takaoka, and Oppenheim. A quorum was established.
Also present were: Village Manager Kalmar, Assistant Village Manager Carey, Building Commissioner Atkinson, Chief Kreis, Finance Director Larson, Assistant to the Finance Director Bourdeau, Village Attorney Brankin and Recording Secretary DeAnda
Ill. The Pledge of Allegiance was given.
IV. Citizens Wishing to Address the Board.
Youth Council - Abe Vysocky
Mr. Vysocky appeared before the Village Board to discuss the creation of a Youth Council. The Board was favorable and directed staff to work with him and bring this item back at a future Committee of the Whole.

Chief Kreis read and presented Lifesaving Awards to Officer Reyna and James for their efforts to save a person at the skate park on July 21.
