Village of Cary Village Board met March 6.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

I.Call to Order

This meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Mayor Kownick.

II.Roll Call

Present: Mayor Kownick and Trustees Covelli, Betz, Weinhammer, Kraus, McAlpine and Cosler

Absent: None

Others present included Village Administrator Rife, Community Development Director Simmons, Police Chief Finlon, Public Works Director Morimoto, Village Attorney Tappendorf and members of the audience per the sign-in sheet.

III.Pledge of Allegiance

Mayor Kownick led in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.

IV.Open Forum

There being no comments from the public, Mayor Kownick closed Open Forum at 6:01 p.m.

V.Mayor's Report

Mayor Kownick and Chief Finlon provided an update regarding Cary Grove High School.

Mayor Kownick provided an overview of the recent meeting of the McHenry County Council of Governments.

Mayor Kownick stated the Village of Cary's Public Works Department has recently been recognized by the Illinois Department of Health for maintaining perfect compliance in 2017 with the Illinois Public Water Supply regulation.

VII. Consent Agenda

1. Consider for Approval the Warrant Dated March 6, 2018

2. Consider for Approval Minutes of the February 20, 2018 Village Board Meeting

3. Consider for Approval Minutes of the February 20, 2018 Committee of the Whole Meeting

4. Consider for Approval a Resolution Adopting the 2018 Village of Cary Official Zoning Map (R18-03-01)

5. Consider for Approval a Resolution Granting a Release of Lafarge Aggregates / Meyer Material Company's Impact Fee Letter of Credit and Land Conservancy Maintenance Letter of Credit (R18-03-02)

6. Consider for Approval the Closure of Tiger Trail (between Briargate Road and Wulff Street) for the Cary Park District 9th Annual Kids Garage Sale on August 11, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

7. Consider for Approval an Ordinance Amending Title 12 – Streets, Sidewalks and Public Property, Chapter 12.20 – Trees and Shrubs (018-03-01)

8. Consider for Approval The Village of Cary Police Commission Annual Report for 2017

Motion: Trustee McAlpine moved, seconded by Trustee Kraus to approve Consent Agenda Items #1 and #4 - #8.

Ayes: Betz, Cosler, Covelli, Weinhammer, Kraus, McAlpine

Nays: None

Abstain: None

Motion Carried

VIII. Items for Separate Action

1. Consider for Approval the Minutes of the February 20, 2018 Village Board Meeting (Consent Item #2)

Motion: Trustee Kraus moved, seconded by Trustee Betz to approve the Minutes of the February 20, 2018 Village Board Meeting. (Consent Item #2)

Discussion-

None.

Ayes: Betz, Cosler, Covelli, Kraus, McAlpine

Nays: None

Abstain: Weinhammer

Motion Carried

2. Consider for Approval the Minutes of the February 20, 2018 Committee of the Whole Meeting (Consent Item #3)

Motion: Trustee McAlpine moved, seconded by Trustee Kraus to approve the Minutes of the February 20, 2018 Committee of the Whole Meeting. (Consent Item #3)

Discussion-

None.

Ayes: Betz, Cosler, Covelli, Kraus, McAlpine

Nays: None

Abstain: Weinhammer

Motion Carried

IX. Administrator's Report

Administrator Rife stated budget packets will be disseminated to Village Board members.

X. Department Head Reports

Chief Finlon stated the Police Department will be hosting Coffee with the Chief event on Friday, March 9th at 9:30 am.

Director Morimoto stated the Spring Clean Up dates are May 5th and May 12th.

Director Simmons stated the developer for the West Lake subdivision has begun prepping the site and will begin the permitting process this month.

XI. Future Agenda Items and Discussion by Village Board

None.

XII. Adjourn

There being no further items to discuss, a Motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 6:18p.m.

Motion: Trustee McAlpine

Second: Trustee Betz

The Voice Vote noted all ayes and the motion carried.
