Report: Big Hollow spent $8,542 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Big Hollow School District 38 is down 4 percent from five years ago, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lake County school district spent $8,852 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,542 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1806 to 1801.

Big Hollow's spending in 2016-17 was 34 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
