Report: North Shore spent $16,581 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at North Shore School District 112 is up 6 percent from five years ago, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lake County school district spent $15,577 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $16,581 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 4282 to 4076.

North Shore's spending in 2016-17 was 28 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
