Village of Mundelein issued the following announcement on June 27.
Mundelein Community Days opens at 4 p.m., Thursday, June 28 and ends after the fireworks, on Sunday, July 1. There is something for everyone at Mundelein Days—carnival, fireworks (July 1), parade (July 1), food, music, games, contests, demonstrations, displays and lots of kids activities. New this year—Lil’ Kickers North Shore Soccer Demo, MFD Blood Drive, Pet Adoption Event, One World Exhibit and Cultural Performances by Ho Etsu & Ballet Folklorico.
The fireworks will take place on July 1, and there will be a Hot Dog Eating Contest, Chalk Art drawing event, a Petting Zoo and pony rides, and a day of “Music under the Tent.”
The parade route will travel Division to California to Hawley to MHS. The parade will form in the Metra station parking lot. The parade will exit the Metra station on Division Street, proceed west to California, north to Hawley, and west to Mundelein High School.
The Miss Mundelein, Junior Miss and Little Miss Mundelein Pageants will be held in the auditorium at Mundelein High School, on Sunday, June 24 at 6:30 p.m. Admission to the pageants is $5 per person, $3 for children under 12.
