The Madigan funding was disclosed in reports filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections (ISBE) by Daniel Didech Campaign Committee, the campaign committee that supports Didech’s race against Republican Karen Feldman in the 59th district.

The district covers all or part of Lake Forest, North Chicago, Park City, Waukegan, Fremont, Libertyville, Vernon, Warren, West Deerfield, Wheeling, Knollwood, Buffalo Grove, Green Oaks, Gurnee, Indian Creek, Libertyville, Lincolnshire, Long Grove, Mettawa, Mundelein, Northbrook, Riverwoods, Vernon Hills,  and Wheeling.

Madigan’s contributions to Decatur came from the campaign funds he controls, including his own committee, Friends of Michael J. Madigan, the Illinois Democratic Party and the Democratic County Chairman’s Association of Illinois. In all, Madigan has contributed $166,849 to the candidate’s campaign.

From Aug. 15 to Sept. 6, Madigan spent $2.67 million backing campaigns for 31 candidates. He's spent more than $100,000 on 12 candidates and more than $40,000 on 18.
