Barrington Park District Finance Committee met Jan. 13.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

The Board of Park Commissioners, Barrington Park District, Lake and Cook Counties, Illinois, held a Finance Committee meeting at Langendorf Park, 235 Lions Drive. Commissioner Knapik called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m.

I. ROLL CALL

Commissioners present: Commissioners Christine Garry, Bill Knapik, and Jon Stickney.

Absent: Commissioners Linda Hovde and Jim Lundmark.

Staff Present: Executive Director Terry Jennings, Attorney Sue Jantorni (via telephone), Supt. Sue Mayer, Supt. Jodi Krause, and Recording Secretary Janet McKay.

II. REVIEW VENDOR BILLS

Due to Accountant Howard’s absence, the Committee reviewed the bills presented for payment with Director Jennings and recommended for acceptance after their questions were satisfactorily answered.

III. TREASURER’S REPORT

Director Jennings reviewed the Operating Summary for one month ending December 31, 2019, which is 100% of the year. Total revenue of the budget is at 108%. She said the year has been moving along nicely with revenue trending up. Expenditures are at 84%, which is quite good.

The Corporate Fund shows revenue at 109% and expenditures are at 91%. The Recreation Fund continues to track well with both revenue and expenses consistent. Net revenue is up for the year.

KEEP has maintained its phenomenal increase in volume. Supt. Krause said $6,500 in salaries has been coming out of the Special Events budget since this fall. Investment returns remain relatively low but are invested safely.

VI. ADJOURNMENT

MOTION was made by Commissioner Knapik, seconded by Commissioner Stickney, to adjourn the Finance Committee meeting at 6:41 p.m.

Voice vote, all in favor. MOTION CARRIED
