Libertyville announces Nicholas Dowden Park grand opening celebration

The Village of Libertyville has announced the grand opening celebration of the redesigned Nicholas Dowden Park. The event is scheduled for June 19 from 4:30- 7:30 pm and promises a family-friendly atmosphere with free entry and various activities.

Attendees will have access to food trucks including Billy Bricks on Wheels, The Curious Crow, and Moo Joe’s Ice Cream. Live music will be provided by Blue Eyed Leo.

The celebration includes a Glowby the Bubbler show from 4:30-5:30 pm, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30 pm.

Various activities are planned for participants:

- Soccer Skills Challenges hosted by Greater Libertyville Soccer Association

- Skate demos from Asylum Skatepark

- Free Throw Contest organized by Athletes In Motion

- Creation of Riley the Rock Snake sponsored by Rosborough Partners, Inc.

- Debut of Libertyville’s Story Stroll

This event marks an opportunity for community members to engage in recreational activities while celebrating the park's redesign.
