ADLAI E STEVENSON HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT 125: SHS Rises in U.S. News Rankings

Adlai E Stevenson High School District 125 issued the following announcement on April 21.

Stevenson is the highest-rated open enrollment public high school in Illinois, according to the latest rankings from U.S. News and World Report. The organization has ranked American high schools since 1983.

U.S. News listed Stevenson at No. 6 in Illinois and No. 150 in the country in its rankings released Tuesday, April 21. Only five selective-enrollment institutions in Chicago were ranked ahead of SHS: Payton College Prep (ninth nationally), Northside College Prep (23), Lane Tech (69), Whitney Young (71) and Jones College Prep (91). Last year, Stevenson was ranked sixth in Illinois and No. 155 nationally.

Stevenson also is ranked No. 66 nationally in the U.S. News STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) rankings, which is based primarily on participation levels and success on Advanced Placement science and mathematics exams. Last year, Stevenson was No. 71 in the STEM rankings. U.S. News began its STEM rankings in 2011.
