Lake Forest School District 67 has announced the reopening of Everett School’s Sensory Garden. The garden, which includes a sensory walk and fairy garden, was made possible through a grant from The Spirit of 67 Foundation and support from Gardening2Grow, the Everett Garden Club, and Mariani Landscape.
According to Lake Forest School D67, the sensory garden at Everett School is dedicated to former Principal Renee Fitzsimmons for her efforts in revitalizing the space. Contributions were acknowledged from Mariani Landscape President Johannes Louwers and a parent committee that included Katherine Hensley, Shelly Marks, Brandi Verceles, Christina Kennette, and Colleen Weidmann. These individuals played a key role in organizing the reopening celebration.
The Spirit of 67 Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 1985 with the mission of funding educational enrichment within Lake Forest School District 67. It supports Cherokee, Everett, Sheridan Elementary Schools, and Deer Path Middle School by raising funds through donations and events to provide educational opportunities beyond standard school funding.
