Barrington Hills Park District Board of Park Commissioners met April 10.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Dennis Kelly called meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Commissioners present were: Dennis Kelly, President; Steven Allen, Vice President; Gigi Iacovelli, Treasurer; Drew McMahon, Jessica Underwood, Secretary

Visitors: None

Motions:

Motion to approve the following Officer Designation as follows Drew McMahon as Vice President was made by Dennis Kelly and seconded by Steven Allen.

Motion to approve the March 2019 Park Board Minutes was made by Dennis Kelly and seconded by Drew McMahon.

Motion to approve the March 2019 Treasurer’s Report was made by Steven Allen and seconded by Dennis Kelly.

Motion to approve the rental application for a partial facility rental on May 27-28, 2019 for the RCBH Horsemanship Clinic was made by Dennis Kelly and seconded by Gigi Iacovelli.

Motion to approve changing the Officer Designations as follows: Drew McMahon as Treasurer and Gigi Iacovelli as Vice President was made by Dennis Kelly and seconded by Jessica Underwood.

Motion to approve the Financial Audit for 2018 by LM Harrison, LLP, CPA not to exceed $3,000 in any one year for a period of three years was made by Dennis Kelly and seconded by Drew McMahon.

Motion to approve hiring Barn Managers for $25.00 per hour and not to exceed $2,500 per year was made by Dennis Kelly and seconded by Gigi Iacovelli.

Commissioners’ Discussion:

The Park Board received a report from the Advisory Committee which supported the dates of the Horsemanship Clinic. Repairs and use of the Hunt House were discussed.

The Park Board requested a list of all the Advisory Committee members and their affiliations.

A cleaning service will be hired to clean the basement of the Hunt House and a bug/pest control company will be hired to control pests in the Hunt House.

Commissioners discussed waiting until the Fall to begin construction on the new outdoor arena.

The Cook County Forest Preserve should be contacted to get the rules and regulations for conducting volunteer restoration work in the Spring Creek Forest Preserves and a copy of the rules sent to the Pony Club’s DC.

The Park District tractors will get a Spring maintenance check by Buck Brothers. The Pony Club will store their tractor in the Hunt House garage.

The jumps will be placed in the stadium field on May 1st and Barn Managers will work with Juanita Kennedy to make repairs to the jumps and place the jumps in the field.

The Park District will purchase a cellphone so the Administrator no longer has to use her private cell phone to conduct park district work.

Dennis Kelly reported that parents at Countryside School are getting donations to repair the softball field at Countryside School and the Park District may be asked to oversee the coordination of the work.

A plumber will be called to look at the leaking water hydrant at the kennels. Meeting was adjourned at 8:15 pm
