Analysis: Vernon Hills pays $4.63 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Vernon Hills Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 82.3 percent of the $2,504,294 the Vernon Hills Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $4.63 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Vernon Hills contributed $2,059,961 to the fund, which saw a $279,738 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $444,333, or 17.7 percent, in 2018.
