Analysis: North Chicago pays $3.42 for every $1 pensioners contribute to North Chicago Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 77.7 percent of the $1,724,668 the North Chicago Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.42 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, North Chicago contributed $1,340,164 to the fund, which saw a $55,818 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $391,044, or 22.7 percent, in 2018.
