Analysis: Highland Park pays $7.52 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Highland Park Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 88.2 percent of the $4,522,232 the Highland Park Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $7.52 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Highland Park contributed $3,987,084 to the fund, which saw a $250,172 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $529,624, or 11.7 percent, in 2018. Another $5,524 came from other unspecified sources.
