Barrington Fire District responded to 342 calls in 2018 - 0.3 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Barrington included 20 fires - 14 structure fires, two vehicle fires and four other fires.

In all, the department saw $254,325 in fire loss - or about $12,716 per fire.

The department also received 322 false calls, including one malicious call and 321 other false calls.

The Barrington Fire District had an annual budget of $5,800,114 in 2018.

The Barrington Firefighters Pension Fund, which has 18 active employees and 31 retired or inactive employees, was $1,227,532 positive as of December 2017, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $68,196 for every fire in 2017.
