First Fire Protection District of Antioch responded to 595 calls in 2018 - 14 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in First Of Antioch included 70 fires - 38 structure fires, nine vehicle fires and 23 other fires.

In all, the department saw $581,402 in fire loss - or about $8,306 per fire.

The department also received 525 false calls, including 53 malicious calls and 472 other false calls.

The calls resulted in 19 civilian non-fire injuries.
