Village of Cary Committee of the Whole Met August 4

Village of Cary Committee of the Whole met Aug. 4.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

I. This meeting was called to order at 6:20 p.m. by Mayor Kownick.

II. Roll Call

Present: Mayor Kownick and Trustees Betz, Covelli, Collier, Kraus, McAlpine and Weinhammer. Trustees Covelli, Kraus and Weinhammer participated via audio conference.

Absent: None

Also present were Village Administrator Rife, Chief Finlon and Village Attorney Uhler. Public Works Director Morimoto participated via audio conference.

Ill. Pledge of Allegiance

Mayor Kownick led in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.

IV. Public Comments

There being no comments from the public, Mayor Kownick closed Public Comments at 6:21 p.m.

V. Discussion on an Ordinance Amending Section 10.32.005 - Parking Prohibited of the Municipal Code for the 490 feet of W. Margaret Terrace West of Elden Drive

Director Morimoto provided background regarding the proposed ordinance amendment.

Director Morimoto stated the residents in this area were contacted for feedback. One resident was not in support of the proposed ordinance amendment due to safety and speeding concerns.

Administrator Rife stated the resident's concerns will be reviewed and addressed by the Police Department.

Trustees McAlpine, Collier, Betz and Mayor Kownick are in favor of the proposed ordinance amendment.

Trustees Covelli, Kraus and Weinhammer are not in support of the proposed ordinance amendment.

It was the consensus of the Committee of the Whole to consider an ordinance amending Section 10.32.005 - Parking Prohibited of the municipal code for the 490 feet of W. Margaret Terrace west of Elden Drive at the next Village Board meeting.

VI. Discussion on an Ordinance Amending Section 10.32.005 - Parking Prohibited of the Municipal Code for a Portion of Pine Circle in the Bright Oaks Subdivision

Director Morimoto provided an overview of the proposed ordinance amendment.

It was the consensus of the Committee of the Whole to consider an ordinance amending Section 10.32.005 - Parking Prohibited of the municipal code for a portion of Pine Circle in the Bright Oaks subdivision at the next Village Board meeting.

VII. Adjourn

There being no further items to discuss, Mayor Kownick entertained a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:43 p.m.

Ayes: Trustee McAlpine moved, seconded by Trustee Collier to adjourn the meeting. Betz, Collier, Covelli, Kraus, McAlpine, Weinhammer

Nays: None

Abstain: None

Motion Carried
