Kildeer Countryside Community Consolidated School District 96 issued the following announcement on Oct. 30.
District 96 applauds three elementary students recognized in 2020 for their exceptional artwork.
In September, the submitted work of two KCSD96 students was selected to be included in the juried state-wide student art show at the Illinois Art Education Association (IAEA) Conference. The live virtual student show awards ceremony will be Nov. 7.
Arnav Sahoo, Prairie Elementary School fourth grader, used marker and charcoal pencils to create a colorful radial symmetry design. Arnav's art teacher at Prairie School is Christopher Morris.
Sydney Collins, Ivy Hall Elementary School third grader, created a multihued paper weaving accented with buttons and bling. Sydney's art teacher at Ivy Hall Elementary School is Katherine Lindgren.
In March 2020–designated Youth Art Month in Illinois by the IAEA–Ivy Hall Elementary School student Alexa Mesi was recognized for her work. A first grader at the time and also a student of Katherine Lindgren, Alexa's artwork was chosen from among 126 entries for inclusion on the IAEA state flag and the Youth Art Month Poster, as well as in the organization's Mosaic publication. Ivy Hall and Alexa were awarded art supplies from sponsor Sargent Art.
