For the eighth time in nine years, the Lake Forest Library, located at 360 E. Deerpath Rd., has earned recognition as a 3-Star Library in the 13th edition of the Library Journal Index of Public Library Service, according to a press release from the Lake Forest Library.
The Library Journal Index gauges statistics including library visits, program attendance, circulation and resource use to shine a spotlight on the facilities across the nation that have gone above and beyond in boosting public engagement.
The 2020 index was comprised from fiscal year 2018 data from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
Lake Forest Library was one of 262 facilities out of over 100,000 to receive the Star Library rating, and one of 5,608 that qualified to be in the index.
"Providing quality concierge-level service and outstanding resources to the Lake Forest community is our highest priority at Lake Forest Library," Library Director Catherine A. Lemmer said in the release. "We are proud to again be a Star Library and are grateful for our supportive community, the hard work of our staff, and the leadership of our library board."
