State Sen. Craig Wilcox (R-McHenry) is hoping this weekend’s Huntley Fall Festival marks the start of plenty of lasting relationships.
"Senator (Don) DeWitte and I are partnering for a two-day pet adoption event,” Wilcox posted on Facebook. “Pet adoption specialists from the Huntley Animal House Shelter will join us and help connect pets with their new forever homes.”
Held at Deicke Park in Huntley, the event kicks off on the morning of Sept. 25 and runs through Sunday.
“Dogs and cats up for adoption will be available to see and enjoy at the event, and prospective new pet owners will be able to complete the application process,” Wilcox said. “Come find a new furry friend from 10-5 Saturday or 11-5 Sunday,” he added in a post to his website.
Organizers note pets will not leave with new owners on the day an application is submitted.
On Sept. 27, Wilcox is set to partner with the Illinois Student Assistance Commission for a college financial aid/loan repayment webinar, click here to register.
And on Sept. 29, Wilcox will be hosting AARP experts for a “Medicare 101” program, to register, click here.
“My office is putting the finishing touches on these community outreach events, and I hope to see a good turnout at all three of these September offerings,” said Wilcox, first elected in 2018. “We made a real effort to find something that would appeal to all age groups and interest areas, so I look forward to seeing a good cross-section of the 32nd District community at these events.”
