The Village of Hawthorn Woods Receives Certificate of Achievement for
Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association
The Village of Hawthorn Woods is proud to receive the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2020.
The GFOA advances excellence in government finance by providing best practices, professional development, resources, and practical research for more than 21,000 members and the communities they serve.
The Village of Hawthorn Woods Annual Financial Report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate individuals and groups to read the report.
The GFOA Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
“This award continues the great tradition of excellence that our residents have come to expect from Village operations,” stated Pamela O. Newton, Chief Operating Officer for the Village of Hawthorn Woods. “Mayor Dominick DiMaggio and our Board of Trustees, along with Village staff members, are committed to excellence and transparency in government finances. This newest accolade is a testimonial to that commitment.”
