The Waukegan City Council has announced that contractors have until Sunday, Dec. 31 before their registration with the City of Waukegan expires. The council stated that registrations can be made online.
According to a press release on the City of Waukegan's website, contractors should log into the city's portal at https://h9.maintstar.co/waukegan/portal/#/ to submit their applications. They are required to submit an updated certificate of insurance and a copy of their current license under the "My Records" tab.
The same press release indicates that the city will review submissions within 10 business days and an email will be sent to the business with instructions to pay when approved.
Further, the city has made permit process improvements that allow contractors to apply and upload all documents 24/7, according to another press release on the City of Waukegan's website. Contractors can check the status of their applications, view plan review comments, reply with their own updated documents, and view all old transactions and receipts as needed for tax purposes. Inspection results will be sent via email.
Lastly, it was noted in a press release on the City of Waukegan's website that Waukegan provides a physical permit counter on the first floor of City Hall for guidance.
