The Buffalo Grove Police Department has announced that 95% of Village residents feel safe in their homes or businesses, and nearly as many believe it is safe to walk in their neighborhoods. The majority of residents also expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Police Department.

Police Chief Brian Budds stated, "It is very encouraging to see that our police service satisfaction levels remain high, demonstrating our commitment to safety and excellence. These survey results will help guide our future strategic vision," according to a news release from the Buffalo Grove Police Department.

The aforementioned data were derived from the 2023 Citizen Satisfaction Survey, as revealed by a news release from the Buffalo Grove Police Department. This survey has been conducted since 1984 by the accredited agency.

According to another news release from the Buffalo Grove Police Department, 91% of Village residents feel safe walking through their neighborhoods. Furthermore, 87% of them are satisfied with the department's overall performance. The biennial survey was last conducted in 2021.

A Buffalo Grove Police Department news release also noted that twenty percent of the 1,500 Buffalo Grove residents who received the survey responded. The results are analyzed to assist in setting future community policing goals. The full report can be found online at www.vgg.org.
