Chicago Morning Answer radio show host Dan Proft said that Northwestern University has always been a very political institution.
“It’s morphed a little bit, like along identity politics lines, but it’s not changed in any material way, it’s gotten less tolerant because the administration is a lot weaker.” Proft told host Jansons or Weiss on the Lake Forest podcast. “I went to Northwestern, and back when I went there 30 years ago, it was a hotbed of Marxism”
“Arnie Weber, who was president when I was there, was a lot more committed to the free marketplace of ideas on a college campus than the presidents who’ve succeeded,” Proft said. “And certainly Schill, the current one, is laughable. He’s an embarrassment.”
