Highland Park announces opening of cooling centers during heatwaves

The City of Highland Park has announced the availability of cooling centers during heatwaves, expressing gratitude for the partnership with local organizations in this initiative.

Residents can access daytime cooling centers at the following locations during their normal operating hours:

- Recreation Center of Highland Park (1207 Park Ave. W. )

- Highland Park Public Library (494 Laurel Ave. )

- City Hall (1707 St. Johns Ave.; 8 AM - 5 PM Monday - Friday)

After-hours cooling centers will operate on an ad hoc basis to assist residents during emergencies such as power outages. Information about evening cooling center availability will be posted online when activated.

Residents are encouraged to bookmark cityhpil.com/coolingcenters for updates on after-hours cooling center activation.
