Mrs. Matthews and Mr. Brienen implemented effective data-to-differentiation strategies in their classrooms this week at ZCMS. Both educators regularly communicate student and classroom data to students, using it to adjust their instruction accordingly.

Mrs. Matthews explained her approach, saying, "I use exit tickets daily as a way for students to reflect on their learning and for me to see what needs to be retaught the next day. " She added that she also uses formative assessments such as quizzes and observations during class activities to gather data on student understanding.

Mr. Brienen shared his method of incorporating technology into his teaching practice: "Using Google Forms for quick checks for understanding allows me to instantly see where each student is at with the content we are learning. This helps me tailor my instruction immediately. "

Both teachers emphasize the importance of involving students in the process. Mrs. Matthews said, "When students know their own data, they can set goals and take ownership of their learning," while Mr. Brienen noted that "students appreciate knowing how they are doing in real-time so they can make necessary adjustments. "

Their commitment to using data-driven strategies highlights a focus on meeting individual student needs through differentiated instruction.
