CALL TO ORDER
At 4:30 PM Chair Katz called the meeting to order and asked for a roll call.
ROLL CALL
Members Present: Chair Kiki Katz
Commissioner Kris Byrnes
Members Absent: Commissioner Evan Witkowski
Staff Present: Board Secretary Nick Barnes, Commander Sean Curran, and Detective Tom Spanos
Others Present: None
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Special Meeting of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners – December 24, 2024
Chair Katz requested a motion to approve the open and closed session Minutes of a Special Meeting of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners for the date of December 24, 2024.
Commissioner Byrnes motioned to approve the minutes, Commissioner Katz seconded.
On a voice vote:
Voting Yea: Chair Katz, Commissioner Byrnes
Voting Nay: None
Abstain: None
Absent: Commissioner Witkowski
Chair Katz declared that the motion passed.
CLOSED SESSION
Chair Katz requested a motion that the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners close its meeting to the public pursuant to Section 2(c) of the Illinois Open Meetings Act (5 ILCS 120/2(c)) for the purpose of discussing personnel matters.
Commissioner Byrnes moved to move to closed session, Chair Katz seconded.
On a voice vote:
Voting Yea: Chair Katz, Commissioner Byrnes
Voting Nay: None
Abstain: None
Absent: Commissioner Witkowski
Chair Katz declared that the motion passed.
At 4:32 PM the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners recessed the public portion of the meeting to meet in closed session.
Chair Katz reconvened the open session of the Board of Police and Fire Commissioners at 4:40 PM and asked for a roll call.

The Board made a written determination, by consensus, on post-offer screening elements for Police Officer (Entry Level) candidate Andrew Henkle.
