Du Quoin Community Unit Schools will celebrate Support Staff reESPect Day on April 2, honoring the Education Support Personnel (ESPs) who play a crucial role in the district's operations. These professionals include building secretaries, kitchen staff, custodians, nurses, technology assistants, and aides.

"ESPs are the behind-the-scene members of our school personnel who help keep our schools running smoothly," said a representative from the district. "They manage school offices, prepare nutritious meals, maintain clean and safe environments, care for students’ health needs, ensure technology functions properly, and provide valuable academic and personal support. Their commitment to our students’ well-being and success is unwavering. "

The district encourages everyone to participate in recognizing these individuals through various no-cost methods:

- Personalized Thank-You Cards: Writing a note of gratitude can have a significant impact. "A simple, genuine ‘Thank you for all you do’ can mean so much," the district noted.

- Social Media Shout-Outs: Posting public thank-you messages on social media pages or community groups to highlight specific support staff members.

- Simply Say Thank You: Expressing gratitude during drop-off or pick-up times with a sincere “Thank you” to show appreciation for their work.
