Lake Forest offers free tree seedlings in celebration of Arbor Day

The City of Lake Forest is celebrating Arbor Day by offering free tree seedlings to residents. Starting Monday, April 22, the City's Forestry section will distribute seedlings at various parks throughout the town. The available species include Hackberry, Black Hills Spruce, and Norway Spruce.

Seedlings will be restocked daily while supplies last at the following locations:

- City Hall - North Side of City Hall Parking Lot (220 E Deerpath Rd)

- West Park Parking Lot - North Side (850 Summit Ave)

- South Park Parking Lot - South Side (150 S Maywood Rd)

- Northcroft Park Parking Lot - West Side (1365 S Ridge Rd)

- Everett School Parking Lot - West Side (1191 Everett School Rd)

The City of Lake Forest has been recognized as Tree City USA for 45 consecutive years, reflecting its commitment to tree preservation.

Residents are also invited to explore the Forestry section's Tree Map, which allows users to locate and identify tree species across the city.
