Du Quoin CUSD #300 has announced important upcoming dates and events for families in April.
School will not be in session on Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, in observance of the holiday weekend.
Kindergarten Screening is scheduled for Tuesday, April 22. Parents with children turning five by September 1 are advised to contact the elementary office to schedule an appointment. Current kindergarten students will not attend school that day.
During the screening day, the Du Quoin Lion’s Club will offer free eye exams for children up to six years old between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. This service can also be used for PreK program registration.
The 2025-2026 school calendar has been approved, with the first day of school set for Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
As part of the Community Schools Grant efforts, the district is seeking input from families to guide goal writing. Surveys have been made available for feedback.
Acting Superintendent Diana Rea expressed appreciation for parental partnership and support as the district aims to develop new programs, partnerships, and support systems.
