Lake Forest Community High School District 115 announced that Superintendent Dr. Matthew L. Montgomery recently engaged with seniors from the Class of 2025 in a roundtable discussion at Lake Forest High School (LFHS).

According to the announcement, on April 24, Dr. Montgomery facilitated a conversation with the seniors, focusing on feedback, reflections, and future aspirations. Students expressed their views on both successes and areas for improvement. The session concluded with each senior summarizing their experience at LFHS in one word, such as "community," "leadership," and "connected."

Montgomery serves as superintendent for both Lake Forest Community High School District 115 and Elementary District 67, overseeing school operations, programs, finances, and staffing. He began his career in Ohio as a science teacher and later served as a principal and superintendent, notably advancing STEM education. Since joining Lake Forest in 2021, he’s led strategic planning, community engagement efforts, and a successful $105.7 million referendum. Montgomery is involved in several national education organizations and continues to support leadership development and educational innovation. He previously taught graduate coursework in educational leadership at the American College of Education.

Lake Forest High School, established in 1935, is a public secondary school in Lake Forest, Illinois, serving grades 9–12. Approximately 95% of its students pursue higher education, supported by personalized instruction and a collaborative school environment. It serves the communities of Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood, with the motto "Pursuits become habits," according to Lake Forest Schools.

Lake Forest Community High School District 115 serves approximately 1,500 students from Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood. The district offers a range of academic programs, extracurricular activities, career pathways, and community service opportunities. Its curriculum includes advanced placement courses, specialized electives, and access to athletics, performing arts, and various clubs. According to Lake Forest Schools, feeder schools include Deer Path Middle School, Lake Bluff Middle School, and several private and parochial schools in the area.
