Lake Forest Community High School District 115 announced that Superintendent Dr. Matthew L. Montgomery recently engaged with seniors from the Class of 2025 in a roundtable discussion at Lake Forest High School (LFHS).
According to the announcement, on April 24, Dr. Montgomery facilitated a conversation with the seniors, focusing on feedback, reflections, and future aspirations. Students expressed their views on both successes and areas for improvement. The session concluded with each senior summarizing their experience at LFHS in one word, such as "community," "leadership," and "connected."
Montgomery is the superintendent for both Lake Forest Community High School District 115 and Elementary District 67. He oversees school operations, programs, finances, and staffing. His career began in Ohio as a science teacher before advancing to roles as principal and superintendent, where he notably promoted STEM education. Since joining Lake Forest in 2021, Montgomery has led strategic planning initiatives and community engagement efforts while supporting leadership development and educational innovation.
Lake Forest High School was established in 1935 as a public secondary school serving grades 9–12 in Lake Forest, Illinois. It supports approximately 95% of its students in pursuing higher education through personalized instruction within a collaborative environment.
The district serves around 1,500 students from Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood. It offers diverse academic programs including advanced placement courses and specialized electives alongside extracurricular activities such as athletics and performing arts.
